Single Insulator Changeout Using Rubber Gloves from an Aerial Device

This 15-minute video shows how to change out a pin insulator on a crossarm. A temporary conductor holder is clamped to the crossarm near the defective insulator. The conductor is lifted and moved to a temporary conductor holder. After repairs are made, the conductor is moved back to its original position. Two men work as a team, from buckets. Rubber gloves and hoses are installed for protection.(Courtesy Hubbell)
